True climate ambition is a journey. The Taking Climate Action certifies that a company's carbon footprint is measured, reduced, and compensated annually.
Protecting the planet is a collective responsibility. Whether you are just beginning or already making significant progress in reducing emissions, the Taking Climate Action label allows you to showcase your achievements and communicate them transparently and confidently.
Each Taking Climate Action label includes a QR code to enhance transparency around your climate commitments. Scanning the code opens a dedicated page with key details, such as the carbon footprinting scope (operational and organisational), reduction goals and plans, and information about climate projects.
This QR code provides an in-depth view of your organisation's progress in reducing emissions, presented in a clear and transparent manner.
The Taking Climate Action label can be used to certify an entity, i.e. meaning a company or parts of companies (e.g. site level). Entities can be defined by a physical location or by a juridical entity.
The Taking Climate Action label has different levels ranging from Bronze to Gold, recognising your climate commitments while encouraging you to go further. Levels depend on the scope of calculation and the ambitiousness of the reduction targets.
All direct and indirect emissions from the use of purchased electricity, heat, or cooling (energy consumption, heat generation, fuel for vehicles…).
All direct and indirect emissions from the use of purchased electricity, heat or cooling as well as the indirect emissions linked to fuel and energy-related emissions (not already considered in scopes 1 and 2), waste from operations, business travel, employee home-work commuting. Moreover, to obtain the silver label, a screening of the value chain emissions must be conducted realised (eg. Purchased goods and services, capital goods, transportation…)
All direct and indirect emissions from the use of purchased electricity, heat or cooling as well as the indirect emissions generated within the value chain (upstream and downstream emissions). Furthermore, to reach this level, the reduction target must be in line with science-based targets (1,5°C trajectory) and should cover at least ⅔ of scope 3 emissions.
Based on the climate journey we have defined a 5-step approach in order to obtain the Taking Climate Action label:
The Taking Climate Action label is approved by CO2Logic and validated by Vinçotte (Member of Group Kiwa), an independent third party auditor and partner. Each label is validated the first year then at least every 3 years. This adds an extra layer of credibility to the label which is key in light of the increasingly demanding European Directives with regards to Green Claims.
Be proud and share your climate achievements with Taking Climate Action label.
