Challenge:

Offsetting CO2 emissions related to natural gas delivered by Mega to its “Ecogaz” customers

Partnership:

Mega has been created in 2014 with the will to become one of the most important energy providers, but also one of the most sustainable one. Mega was already offering 100% green electricity contracts but was looking for a way to offer a “green” alternativee for natural gas too.

CO2logic was the perfect partner to address the CO2 impact related to the natural gas consumptions.

Results:

Since the beginning of 2015, Mega offsets all the CO2 emissions directly related to the natural gas delivered by Mega under the “Ecogaz” contracts. To do so, Mega supports credible climate projects that  fight against deforestation thanks to the installation of efficient cookstoves and that are certified under one of the most demanding standards, the Gold Standard, and that effectively fights against deforestation thanks to the installation of efficient cookstoves. All the claimed CO2 savings from these climate projects are verified by independent third parties, as required by the Gold Standard certification.
